Kindergarten Readiness & Registration Campaign

GOALS:

Developmental Screening Initiative

GOALS:
 

  • Increased developmental screening to identify and address issues early
     

  • Improved readiness
     

  • Educating families on developmental milestones

ACTIVITIES UNDERWAY:
 

  • Education on developmental milestones and screening through family resource fairs, connecting families with healthcare providers, and providing information on milestones
     

  • Conducting screening and follow ups 
     

2017 -2018 IMPACT
 

  • 3,000 families screened

  1. Help provide families with access to the ASQ screening tool
     

  2. Offer family and/or child trainings that focus on identifying areas of need
     

  3. Design toolkits for children and families that contain materials and activities that support skill building based on identified areas of need

Family Empowerment Initiative

GOALS:
 

  • Building Family Resilience
     

  • Strengthening Protective Factors
    (including parent education, strengthening social capital, ensuring access to social and health services)

     

  • 70% of families will report a change in practice based on information provided at outreach activities


ACTIVITIES UNDERWAY:
 

  • Parent Conferences and Education
     

  • Baby Showers to provide resources, education and build social capital
     

  • Parent Groups
     

  • Family Cafés to hear from families directly
     

  • Translated materials and events to accommodate family needs
